10/18/2023 - Big Painting

Can you paint a deer?  I don't know, but I can try.  Why not try? It was a fun challenge, and it wasn't going as planned, but it was fun! The final frame will be 16x20" and is the largest painting I've done. We all have to learn to celebrate vs. scrutinize what we create. Focus on what you love, what went well, and learn from the rest.

9/26/2023 - First Shipment

I've made gifts, in fact - I love giving my art away to people who are meaningful to me. However, it feels awesome to have made some commissioned art and get paid for something I create. My first two orders are finished, packaged, and on their way to the post office in the morning.  How cool is that?

9/24/2023 - Happy 44th Year

2023 has been a year full of new things; fly fishing, pickleball, and golf - just to name a few. But it has also been a year of trying old things. Pottery and watercolor were a large part of the late-teen years and I decided to give them a try again. I can tell you that making art when you are not worried about the assignment or a grade is a lot more fun! 

So, here I am painting, centering clay on a wheel and throwing caution to the wind as I experiment with finding my past skills and creating some new ones.  Finding myself in my 40's has required stepping out of my comfort zone, and I'm really happy I did.
